Los Gatos Creek County Park is located at the intersection
of Dell and Hacienda Avenues in Campbell.
Los Gatos Creek Trail is part of the Santa
Clara County trail system. It is nine miles in length
and offers opportunities for pedestrians, hikers, bicyclists,
and nature lovers. The trail begins at Lexington Reservoir
and follows the Los Gatos Creek for nearly 14 miles through
the Town of Los Gatos, Vasona
Lake County Park,
Los Gatos Creek County Park, and the cities of Campbell
and San Jose.
Dogs are welcome on a leash.
Along the Creek you will see groundwater recharge. Water
released from Lexington Reservoir flows to Vasona Lake
where a system of gates at the dam releases water downstream
to the percolation ponds at Los Gatos Creek County Park
and Budd, Camden, McGlincey, Oka Lane, Page and Sunnyoaks
ponds. The creek ultimately joins the Guadalupe River
and flows northward to San Francisco Bay.
The creek is part of the Guadalupe River watershed. The
creek helps manage river flows by carrying water from
storm drainage systems during rainstorms, The creek drains
into the river together with many other smaller creeks.
