| Bonfante
Gardens is located in the City of Gilroy, near
San Jose, in Santa Clara County. This park is low-key
and somewhat off the beaten path. It is California’s
latest themed attraction. Largely devoted to trees, agriculture
and California history, Bonfante Gardens is part botanical
gardens and part amusement park. The trees and grounds
are beautiful and the park is a great place to commune
with nature. The rides are geared to the younger generation.
Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay is
located in Santa Clara, in Santa Clara County, near
San Francisco. It is affiliated with Paramount's Great
America. Boomerang Bay is not a large park, but it does
have a nice collection of slides. It provides a welcome
relief from the hot California sun.
Disneyland Resort is located in the
City of Anaheim in Southern California. Disneyland Resort
has two theme parks, three hotels and much more! Disneyland
Park is “the happiest place on earth,” the
enchanted kingdom of fantasy and imagination. The park
has themed lands Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Mickey's
Toontown, Adventureland, Fronteirland, New Orleans Square,
Critter Country and Main Street, USA. Disney’s

Knott's Berry Farm is in Beuna Park,
next to Anaheim, near Los Angeles, in Southern California.
Originally a place where berries grew, Knott's Berry
Farm was purchased in the late 1990s by the operators
of Cedar Point, a famous park in Ohio. The new owners
built the roller coasters and thrill rides that made
its Ohio Park famous. Mrs. Knott's Famous Chicken Dinner
is still available and so is the boysenberry jam.
Paramount's Great America is located
in the City of Santa Clara, near San Francisco, in Santa
Clara County. Paramount's Great America heated up the
action in a battle for San Francisco area park supremacy
after Six Flags bought Marineland and added thrill rides
to the activities. That was good news for Bay Area roller
coaster fans. Paramount’s Great America added
the world’s first “flying” coaster,
the Stealth. Also added, The Drop Zone Stunt Tower,
one of the industry's first second-generation, magnetically
braked freefall rides, one of the tallest at 224 feet!
Raging Waters is located in San Jose.
It features a variety of slides spread across the 23-acre
park. Raging Waters also features some unique attractions,
including a body slide that sends you plunging into
thin air before landing in a 10-foot pool.
San Diego Zoo & Wild Animal Park
is arguably the nation's finest zoos. The San Diego
Zoo is among the best and most beautiful zoos in the
United States. It is one of the pioneers in the use
of natural habitat exhibits. Spend time gawking, with
up-close views, at an incredible variety of animals.
True animal lovers appreciate the non-traditional iron-bar
cages. The Wild Animal Park (separate location, separate
admission) provides an even more natural environment
for the animals. Take a 50-minute train ride through
acres of animals roaming freely or a walking "safari"
tour.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is located
in Santa Cruz County on a mile-long beach between Monterey
and San Francisco. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is
admission free and a beach hot spot; it is a classic
seaside amusement park with roller coasters, including
the vintage 1924 Giant Dipper.
Sea World in San Diego focuses on
the marine life attractions. It offers a few rides along
with the marine life shows and exhibits. Shamu and his
killer whale pals are the stars of the action however,
sharks, dolphins and other aquatic creatures get their
moments in the sun as well,
Six Flags Magic Mountain is located
in Valencia, near Los Angeles. Six Flags Magic Mountain
is a cutting-edge thrill ride park with one of the world's
largest arsenals of coasters.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor located
in Valencia and is affiliated with Six Flags Magic Mountain.
It is among the largest water parks in California. It
offers a variety of thrill rides and kid attractions.
Hurricane Harbor requires separate admission from Six
Flags Magic Mountain.
Six Flags Marine World is located
in Vallejo, near San Francisco. It offers a full complement
of rides and sea life attractions. It’s like two
parks in one and appeals to a wide cross-section of
people.
Tahoe Amusement Park is the only amusement
park in all of Lake Tahoe. It’s an old-fashioned
family amusement park. It’s open from May to October
and admission is free, although rides require tickets.
Universal Studios Hollywood is located
in Universal City. It is first and foremost a theme
park but a working Hollywood studio as well. The tram
tour is a vital part of the Universal Studios experience.
Water World USA is located in Concord
and is a Six Flags Park. It offers an enormous amount
of attractions, including a 15-foot wide lazy river.
